The Decision
This is an exciting time for you. Why? Because when you decide to dedicate your life to God by ascending to your highest spiritual level and rightful position in the Universe, you are embarking upon the most joyous and challenging journey of your life...and indeed, the most significant one.
Like all long journeys, there will be a variety of paths that you will encounter; and you must choose, ever so wisely, among them. Some of these paths are roads upon which you are meant to tread so that you may satisfy the karmic obligations charted for you in this life. You will know them by the difficulties laid out for you and the lessons learned from them. Your own special and particular roads will have the lowest valleys, the longest plateaus and the highest, almost insurmountable mountains that our garden of Earth can provide. All so that you can encounter the specific situations you require for your ceaseless climb up the spiritual ladder, ever burning off the layers of karma necessary to complete your journey to the Heavenly Father-Divine Mother.
Be forewarned, however, that gates will open to paths that are not appropriate for you. They may appear at first, to be quite intriguing...with the promise, perhaps, of great knowledge or success. Be wary. Delusion can be treacherous. At best the wrong paths can be annoying distractions. At worst, they can have the deepest pits of anguish, for they lead to regrettable dead ends... or, perhaps, self-destruction.
You must learn to distinguish between the paths of experience, which are presented to you. Tune into the Divine Energies – ask God, your Guru and the Angels to help you make your choices. Krishna, Buddha, Jesus and Mary, came to this plane to light our pathways and bring us love. Their very presence enveloped our Earth with love and blasted energy trails throughout the Ether so that we could more easily ascend to the Heavens. Call upon them! They are waiting for you, and are there...always...to help you!
Your Transformation Begins
The very moment you make the final commitment to God, you are also making a commitment to yourself. Yogananda says that “Self” realization is God realization. That is because the search for God must begin with the discovery of the essence of your own Soul and the God energies within you. When you make a whole-hearted and passionate commitment, you are embarking upon your journey of spiritual evolvement and a subtle, but definite transformation takes place.
You may not be aware of any difference in yourself, but others will be. When you pray and meditate with purpose and devotion, eat properly and take better care of your health, and study metaphysics regularly, you become more finely tuned with God and the Universal Flow. Your soul grows mightier...yet gentler, and it acquires a brighter, magnetic glow as you shine more brilliantly in God's Light.
Some of the people around you who are not on your spiritual level, and thus not vibrating in the same powerful intensity, may only be slightly uncomfortable in your brighter light. Others, however, will be blinded and repelled by it and turn away from you. Do not be discouraged when some of the people who are in your life today are no longer there tomorrow. This is the natural “spiritual selection” process in action. It is a way of protecting the new spiritual aspirant from having to constantly deal with those in a lower vibration who cannot understand the importance or meaning of your quest and who would only waste your time and energy, thus blocking your progress.
Trust this “spiritual selection” … you are undergoing a very special transformation and you are in the Universal Flow. As a seeker of truth, you need more time for prayer, meditation and study, and you must conserve your energies so that you may function as effectively in your daily life as possible. So remember, do not be sad if some relationships come to an end. Those who cannot stay with you are in their own levels and are progression at their own pace, and they are not able to accompany you on your path at this time. It would be unfair to ask them to keep up with you since they are not ready for the hardships and challenges of your journey. Hold the people who drift away from you with “open hands” and let them go with love. Know that the Angels are watching over them, just as they are watching over you, and the appropriate doors will open for your old friends at just the right time.
Since change and growth are imperative for the soul's upward progress, know that new relationships will develop. Some of these newcomers will stay with you, and others will eventually leave. With these new people will come new experiences. Observe, interact and learn from them...enjoy this study in human nature. These are all natural turns of events as the Tarot's Wheel of Fortune spins karmically throughout your life. When you are vibrating in God's Light, you are part of the Universal Flow....trust it!
Inner Feelings
One of the very first emotions you will experience when you decide to meditate is relief. This sense of relief will also be accompanied by satisfaction and peace. You will know that you are on your way Home. You have been seeking the right direction for a long time, and you are finally on the right course...somehow, everything just fits! You know in your heart... you feel in your very being... that daily meditation and a “Yoga” lifestyle of directing your energies upward in a positive and powerful method is for you. It's simple, common sense. Congratulations! You have found your way and made your commitment... so relax! The hard part is now over, from this moment on, you are walking on a Path of Light in God's vibration of peace and love. With God's love, everything, no matter how trying, seems somehow easier. Remember, you must see yourself as a glowing star beaming brilliantly throughout the Universe and into the Heavens.
Responsibilities in Relationships
Throughout your life, you will meet many other spiritual aspirants who are on their own paths of self-realization. Sometimes, you will call upon these fellow souls for assistance. At other times, you will be the one called upon to extend a gentle hand. Be assured that we are always blessed and enriched when we help another along the ever-upward climb to God. An act of unselfish kindness brings a smile to the Heavens and can often enrich you with an insight into your own struggles.
By now, it must have occurred to you that certain people are not in your life by coincidence. Here is a key that will unlock one of the mysterious doors of your reincarnation adventure. “Friends, enemies, and neutrals” always surround us.
The “enemies” are there for a most significant purpose. They are lessons, and these lessons are important obstacles that must be overcome for your knowledge, growth and continued progress. These “enemies” are almost always individuals with whom you have not dealt well with in one or more previous lifetimes. Examine these relationships carefully, but do not give their negativity more importance than it already has. Once you clearly identify the problems with these relationships, determine and perform the specific actions necessary to balance out the situations as fairly and honorably as you truly can. Sincere efforts, effectively made, will neutralize any negative energy between you and the individuals with whom you have problems. You will also be either completely breaking the unpleasant karmic tie that binds you, or balancing out the energies so that you may deal with each other in an unemotional fashion.
Remember that all negative energy should be neutralized as quickly as possible, so that you may learn your karmic lessons and ascend more effortlessly on your path. Keep in mind, however, that integrity, not expediency, is the key to balancing the scales of justice. It will serve no constructive purpose to create new negative karma while trying to solve the old.
Possibly the easiest people to deal with in our live are the “neutrals.” These are people with whom we have had no previous karmic ties and are around to “fill in the gaps.” These “neutrals” play an important role because they give us an unemotional and balanced space within with to operate. We need this space in order to maintain equilibrium within ourselves so that we may evaluate and deal with the people with whom we are karmically connected. If everyone we dealt with was a karmic lesson, we would be on a constant emotional overload.
Our true “friends,” both old and new, be they parents, spouses, children, friends, neighbors, etc., -- those dear souls who stick by us, worry about and love us and are supportive of our quest for self and God realization -- are our companions along the way. These precious gems bring us joy and help us unravel the mysteries of our karmic journeys. Cherish them... loved ones are a blessing!
A True Guru
Some people, who are new to the concept of meditation and the Yoga lifestyle of “self-responsibility” and thus self-realization, do not understand exactly what part the Guru plays in the disciple's upward climb to God.
Unfortunately, most Western religions do not understand the advantage and blessing it is to have a highly elevated soul take a personal interest in our own progress. We are all in agreement that being One with God is our goal, and that is why we direct our meditation and prayers to the Heavenly Father-Divine Mother as often as we can. But who among us has not been disappointed because a prayer has not been answered at a time when we have felt most alone, and we wonder if the Universe has turned against us? We, of course, have not been abandoned, and a Guru can help us know that.
A spiritual teacher, male or female, is an enlightened Soul who has many qualities of a Guru but who has not yet reached that elevated level.
Since a true Guru is one who has almost completed his or her own spiritual journey through the different levels and dimensions, those souls have already been where we are and know precisely how to help us. A Guru can tune into each one of us individually, and direct us so that our spiritual efforts are more effective and successful. Why, you might ask, would someone who is so very close to being completely reunited with God want to interrupt his or her own progress to help other people? We all have different aspects to our individual personalities. For the true Guru, personal attainment can only be achieved when they have experienced the joy of sharing with others and helping them along the arduous steps up the mountain to their own happy destinations. In some respects, these Souls actually have no choice. They are so filled with knowledge, enthusiasm and love for God that they must help others. They incarnate on a physical plane and make themselves known either to a select few or to the general populace, depending on the particular mission at that time. Their brilliant souls beam out energies of love and they round up as many old followers from other lifetimes as possible. Their auras also attract new followers compatible with their energies who are eager to pursue the Divine Light.
Those great souls, whom we call Gurus, make the commitment to help their disciples for as long as they are needed. Remember, when seeking your Guru, make sure he or she does not claim to be God. A true Guru does not ever say, “I am your final destination, I am God!” A genuine Guru, a God-realized Master, says, “I am the Light that illuminates your path to the Divine. If you follow me as my disciple, I will teach you and guide you with loving care. I will see to it that you receive whatever energies you deserve so that you may reach the mountain top of Heaven as rapidly as you can.”
When a disciple on the Path makes a true commitment to a Guru, an everlasting bond is sealed between them. True Gurus have promised to remain with each disciple through eternity regardless of how foolishly or seriously the disciple may fall from the Path. If someone should stray, when he or she is ready, a true Guru will welcome the disciple back with open, stern, but ever-loving and devoted arms to resume the karmic tasks and upward climb. A true Guru will also, when necessary, rearrange certain situations in your life, so that lessons will be more effective. He will also absorb some of your negative karma so that you may utilize your time meditating, praying, and studying instead of being overburdened with problems. He realizes that your extra efforts required for self-improvement must be rewarded occasionally, so trust, and be at one with Universal Flow.
The relationship between Guru and disciple is unlike any other because of the Guru's unswerving love, loyalty, devotion and support. It must not be entered into lightly or with disrespect. It is a great honor to have such a highly elevated soul directly intervene in your life to guide you in your spiritual progress. A Guru/disciple relationship is a true blessing from Heaven and one that you have earned through your own sincere effort in this and other lives. Consider your spiritual achievements thus far with grace and be joyful at receiving this great privilege. If you have not found a Guru, do not despair, many people never do. They persevere and continue upon their spiritual paths very successfully.
Expectations
Although you are now aware of many of the wonderful advantages people following upon the Path of Light may realize, do not anticipate that your life will suddenly become trouble free. Many sincere people fall off the Path of Light because they have unrealistic expectations. They think that because they are now meditating daily, living in a more healthy fashion and studying metaphysics under the watchful eye of their Guru or spiritual teacher, they will no longer experience unhappy relationships or negative situations. This is not the case!
Your karma is still your karma. Except for the events that your Guru chooses to absorb, you must still endure your own self-induced karma and learn your own lessons. Yes, you will experience better health and develop a more positive attitude and perhaps overcome some type of fear that had been plaguing you... this is part of the general benefit and blessing of daily and sincere meditation. But, no, do not expect your new meditation/prayer to be a magic wand. Sincere and ceaseless devotion will enable you to make your progress.
The big advantage you have now is that you are flowing rather than straining, comprehending rather than despairing, and thus receiving God's blessings more abundantly and joyfully.
You have already made such remarkable progress...do not give up! Be disciplined with your efforts and you will be rewarded. Stay on the Path of Light.

What About The Marys?
How many times have we, as ministers of ADL, while lecturing or doing consultations been asked “What about the Mary’s?” I’ve stopped counting. Let’s look at some of the questions.
Was Mother Mary a virgin? No. The correct translation from Aramaic and ancient Hebrew is not virgin. It is maiden. In ancient times, life was divided into three parts -- childhood, adulthood and elder. In women the child was referred to as a maiden to indicate her eligibility to become betrothed. This was usually from 12 to 14 or at the time of her first period. Her blood flow from the womb ensured her ability to bear children. It was also common to become pregnant by your betrothed (but not showing) to prove this beyond doubt. Then the wedding would take place, and the baby would arrive early. More children would come along, and all would live happily ever after.
When you are in a physical or astral realm, which has laws or procedures, you must follow them. Children come from the old fashioned way of the woman’s egg and the man’s sperm uniting and growing inside the woman’s womb or “chalice.” In ancient times, in many cultures, there were happy couples in arranged marriages who considered childbirth a great joy. This was not only for themselves but also for their families, family business –- farms or crafts, communities and religions. Creating children is the duplication of the Heavenly Father and Divine Mother creating life of all kinds. It is a manifestation of the Trinity. The Father is represented by the sperm/idea/wand and Mother is represented by the egg/ability to manifest/the womb/chalice and the result is the creation. In appropriate relationships, it was an honor to “Do on Earth as it was in Heaven.” Sex was not dirty or tacky. It was a privilege. This was especially true of people in the religious castes, like Mary and Joseph, who were training in the Temple of Jerusalem. Remember, the Bible gives a hint of this by stating that Jesus’ travels had the support of women (priestesses) of the Temple of Jerusalem.
Let’s examine the “Immaculate Conception.” This was not about Jesus, but about his Mother, Mary. Catholic priests say this means she was born without original sin. Oh? What it really means is that Mary had no karma to take care of. Either Mary had finished her journey and agreed to come back one last time, or she was split out from the God Source just for this mission as a special emissary.
So what’s with the story of Mary Mother being visited by an Angel in the night, impregnated, and having to go with great shame to Joseph who married her anyway? Let’s look at the other leaders of religions in that area. A perfect example is Krishna, whose mother was the goddess Devaki. An Angel also announced her pregnancy. His birth was honored by important people and he was called the Redeemer and liberator and “bringer of truth.” Check out Moses -- his mother was really the Pharaoh's sister. His father was her brother and therefore also his uncle. Have I lost you? Remember many Egyptian dynasties thought incest kept the line pure. (By the way, have you seen the animal shows featuring The Nile? Between the crocodiles, hippos, lions, and cobras, nothing could survive in a basket in the reeds at the water’s edge.) Also check the stories of Nimrod, Cronos and Mordred.
Why is it that men, who have dominated this Earth since Atlantis went down, think that the most worthy saviors of society, thus religions, must come only from the “chalice” and Angel? Why do they think the poor and uneducated masses will revere a man (of course) born from extraordinary and extra-Earthly origins? Do they imagine that a mother must be unsullied by an Earthly man to bring a savior or leader to the planet? We must ask the question. Why do men feel that they are not worthy enough to be the father of a savior? Frankly this never worked for me. At age 6, I argued with the nuns and priests about Angels making babies and at their insistence that you had to be Catholic to go to Heaven. I also informed them that we had to live many lifetimes before we finally learned enough to go home to the Heavens to stay. Imagine the calls to my parents after the priest finally stopped screaming at me.
Talk about Heaven, perhaps the Angels (and there are billions of them) were reminding Mary Mother that this was part of the Grand Plan put into place prior to her birth. It was agreed to by all participants, both good and bad, so they could be born, grow up and be in their positions so this Grand Plan could take place at the right time and right location. Mary probably needed an aspirin. All the participating souls in this Grand Plan agreed to their parts. All roles were meaningful, both happy and tragic. For instance, let’s quickly look at Judas, “betrayer” of Jesus. If Jesus is so God-like, how could a little detail like that betrayal escape him? It didn’t. Judas and Jesus both knew the role Judas had to play. The human aspect of each was sad, but the souls were joyful with the mission well underway.
Remember hearing about Zoroaster? He was King and prophet of ancient Persia (present day Iran). This man hated women but predicted the arrival of a savior who would elevate all people including women. He even drew up the predictive astrological chart for Jesus. Remember the Magi? They were followers of Zoroaster and astrologers themselves. They knew exactly the “who, what, when, where and why of Jesus.” We can go into this further in a future article. (Please be assured that Mother Mary and her husband, Joseph, were no poor itinerants wandering the desert. They were wealthy, prepared and protected, travelling in caravans for the Grand Plan and the parts they were playing.)
Now let’s look at Joseph, Father of Jesus. We know he was in the linage of the House of David as was his wife Mary. We also know that even today, many cultures prefer that their daughters marry older, successful men who have proven they can support their families. Mary and Joseph both trained at the Temple of Jerusalem and were almost certainly Essenes. Can’t you imagine that, with this lineage, religious training and proper age difference, they were betrothed to be married? Don’t you imagine also that their families were very involved in God’s Grand Plan? Remember places in time please! Joseph was a known merchant who, like many others travelled by caravan to make his trades in many locations. Remember when Jesus was missing, and his parents found him at Joseph’s place of business at the caravan discussing various business issues with his father’s partners? His parents were shocked -– but realized he was no ordinary 12-year-old boy.
Mary's Uncle, or older brother Joseph of Arimathea (we don’t know), was also a successful businessman. He was a trader of tin, among other items, with the Celts. Yes, he did business with England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. We tend to forget that trade went on throughout the ancient world even without planes and giant cargo ships. Joseph therefore was not a poor carpenter scratching out a living. His family was wealthy and well travelled.
Please be assured that Nazareth, a town Jesus’s family lived in, was full of “carpenters” according to the New Testament. Remember we cannot always apply current interpretations with that of the past. In those days carpenters were not only builders of furniture, houses, etc., but also builders of ideas, businesses and new situations. Joseph was perfectly suited as a “carpenter” with this interpretation. I have often wondered what Joseph did after the birth in the “manger.” We don’t hear much about him after that in the Bible. As a High Priest getting on in years, is it not possible that Joseph chose to spend more time in prayer in the Temple of Jerusalem with his fellow priests? Or did he play a bigger part and was simply ignored in the four edited gospels? His role will become clearer with further investigation. Time will tell.
Now, let’s look at Jesus’s wife, Mary of Magdala. She was a priestess preaching in the town of Magdala, having already studied at the Temple of Jerusalem and most assuredly knew both of Jesus’s parents. In the Jewish religion at that time, you had to study and become initiated in the Temple of Jerusalem before you could become a High Priest or Priestess. You could choose to become sequestered in the temple or go among the people and preach. She was well known and respected in her community, and she was thought of as a charismatic and captivating teacher. Keep in mind that a High Priest had to marry a High Priestess by the age of 30. Jesus and Mary of Magdala were a perfect pairing. Because part of Jesus’ special mission was to elevate women, it was natural for them to travel and preach together. Also important to remember is that even today in Orthodox Judaism a High Priest can only be touched by his mother, or a young girl who had not started menstruating, or, of course, his wife. So was Mary Magdalene a prostitute as stated in the Bible? The answer is NO. This was a reflection of how threatened Constantine, along with the now-many Christian priests, were when they were editing down the over 400 gospels to 4, while trying to diminish women. The seven demons, which Jesus supposedly cast out of Mary, were her seven main-body chakras, which were completely open, thus giving her inner and outer priestesshood. The story of Mary Magdalene’s washing of Jesus's feet was a demonstration to his disciples of humility. The anointing of Jesus with oils was part of a priestly marriage ritual. And if you are wondering, yes, Jesus and Mary had children together, which was a requirement for a priest and priestess to remain married. The Rabboni, which is what Jesus was called, had to keep the lineage going.
Be sure to find the books, The Case for Reincarnation by Joe Fisher published by Citadel Press and Jesus Lived in India by Holger Kersten, published by Element Books Ltd. (In Europe and Asia the book is called Jesus Died in India). Kersten’s books are out of print but are available as used editions on Amazon.com. In Jesus Lived in India there are actual photographs of the final resting places (physical tombs) of Jesus and Mother Mary. Islamic extremists are now killing the ancient sects of Muslims who have been tending these sites even prior to Islam. This situation exists even though both Jesus and Mary are both revered in the Koran.
Do any of these realities dim my enthusiasm and love for Mary, Joseph, Jesus and Mary of Magdala? No, absolutely not. Their selfless sacrifices make them even more special and dear. We have just scratched the surface here. There is so much more to know and more to come. (Also read the Gnostic Gospels and the scrolls recently purchased through secret dealers, available to view on the web.) The sacrifices these special beings and others made to bring equality to all people, including women, are almost unimaginable. The love they had for all souls is enthralling. It is possible for us to reach this level of love by forgiving, respecting and actively accepting all forms of life. God Bless Us.
